Sweaty Skin

Doing extraneous tasks, exercise, sports such as basketball and football and dancing are some of the activities wherein you use all parts of the body in moving and performing its tasks. Much effort from the muscles and the mind are exerted in these tasks, causing us to sweat a lot. Being in a place and environment with high temperature or a hot weather and being exposed to the sun, you tend to perspire a lot because the body needs to cool down and it does so by releasing sweat. Emotions also cause people to perspire. Nervousness brought by many factors such as shyness in performing in front of people, stage fright and fear is one of these emotions we feel. Stress and pressures in life and work are also other instances when we experience difficulty and cause the release of too much sweat in the body.

As we all know, it’s a normal reaction of our body when it is in great distress to release the pressure that it feels through perspiration. We, individuals, are always exposed to several different things around us that we always have sweaty skin throughout out bodies, whether in the face, hands, legs, chest, on our back and on our necks.

Having sweaty skin is very apparent on our faces, when we shake hands with other people and through the wet marks on our shirts. This causes us a lot of embarrassing moments and serious problems with out social relations. Of course, if you know that your palms are always wet, you would be shy to greet people by giving them handshakes. But how about if these people are important persons that you have to meet and work with in the corporate world? So there, you are faced with another dilemma aside from how to handle conversations with them. And how about if you really want to join a group or an organization whose activities such as dancing, community service and project building trigger you to perspire more? Definitely shying away and stopping yourself from joining isn’t an option so how would you relate with the members?

For teenagers especially, this is a major concern not only because being in a puberty stage they tend to perspire more but also because they go through a lot of socialization activities, attend various seminars and get involve in many external and physical activities. It could be unbearable to be the subject of gossips at dormitories and inside campus grounds or to be turned down by a girl you like just because she’s turned off by your excessively sweaty skin.

Some Helpful Tips

Proper hygiene is very important and we know that this is one thing teenagers are so obsessed about. If you sweat excessively, don’t be afraid to take a bath more than once a day. Your skin obviously needs some cooling so this can be the best way to do it.

Don’t apply very strong perfume if you are sweating because if it mixes up with the sweat, it will just worsen the odor. Putting perfume wouldn’t stop the sweating anyway so why do it? Just wear some after you take a bath. Some people would put talcum powder on their face and back after wiping they wet area dry.

Wear white to light-colored clothes especially if you have physical activities to do so that wet marks are barely visible at least until you can change your clothes.

Eat and drink healthy foods. Diet or the kinds of foods you take can actually influence the amount and the scent of your sweat. Health conditions, use of drugs and hormonal changes can also affect perspiration.

Also, too much physical activity that stress you out id not good for you. At least, you need a break to relax you mind and body in some peaceful and refreshing place. Do some meditation, too.
